Our
Philosophy
We realize that there are several companies you could choose from to
guide you on your journey. In many ways, all the R.V. Caravan operators are similar, but
each of us has our strong points and our weak points. There are some people that would
rather travel on the type of tour our competitors offer, and if thats the case, we
will not try to sell you on what we offer. In fact, we discourage some potential
customers, because we believe that they are not prepared for this type of travel.
Were not just after your money, we want you to travel with us again and tell your
friends about the wonderful time you had on your Adventuretour. Let me describe what sets
us apart from the rest.
Experience:
Adventuretours staff has over 20 years experience traveling in Mexico AND Central America.
No other company can compare, and thats a fact! No one else has offered tours to
Central America as long as Adventuretours. In fact, we showed the routing to the original
staff of the only other company operating a Panama Canal tour!
Small 15-unit groups:
The smaller your travel group, the more attention we can give everyone. When we first
started traveling in Mexico, our group size was limited to 10 units! When we started
running tours to Central America, we increased the number of units to 15, and have decided
that is the maximum number of units a group can have and still be enjoyable, both for the
staff, and the tourmembers. If any of you have been on a tour with 20 or 25 units, you
have to admit, there were times when parking would have been less stressful, you would
have had a better opportunity to get-to-know your fellow travelers, and the journey would
have been more enjoyable.
Wagonmasters who stay with the
tour group:
Some R.V. tour companies actually make their tourleaders run ahead of the group to scout
the route before everyone else arrives. This leaves the rest of the travelers to find
their own way. One of the reasons you are traveling with a group is to have leadership.
Our policy is to scout the entire trip, BEFORE DEPARTURE, so your staff members can stay
with you during your travels. There are only a few cases where we travel ahead to check on
something that may have changed. Our policy is to travel with our customers, not one hour
ahead of them!
Non-Regimented Travel:
We actually encourage our tourmembers to get out and do their own thing. We try to offer
the most complete and varied list of activities, but we are all different. We understand
that you may be interested in colonial churches, or bird-watching or another interest and
suggest where to go and see these things. This is your tour and we want you to get the
most from it. Some companies do not want you to stray from the group. They train their
staff members to discourage this - not us. We even ran into another group who had a single
lady traveler who wanted to see things away from the group, the tourleader kicked her off
the caravan because she wouldnt stay in the line with everybody else! Is that any
way to travel? Be sure to ask for references when shopping for a tour. If you wish, you
can stick-like-glue with the rest of the group, its up to you!
We are in the RV tour
business:
Some R.V. tour companies are in the Insurance business or the Travel Agent business in
addition to their RV tour business. We are an R.V. tour company and we concentrate on
providing our customers a great tour for a fair price. We dont divide our efforts
among different ventures. You can be rest assured that you will get a quality tour with
Adventuretours.
The Best Value! Discounts and
Rewards for our customers!
We have the most attractive Discount and incentive program in the industry. For example,
if you are a member of Good Sam Club, Escapees or FMCA, well give you $100 off on
several of our tours. If you sign up at least 60 days prior to departure of a tour,
well give you another $100 off! And once you travel with us, we reward you by
issuing Karavan Kredits. This is our generous Frequent Traveler program. On
selected tours, we will give you a certificate valued at $.05 per kilometer ($.08 per
mile) traveled with Adventuretours. You can get up to $500 off a subsequent tour. Now your
probably thinking, their prices must be higher. Thats not the case!
Compare our prices to the competition, then compare our experience, the amount of tours
and activities we offer and youll see how much we appreciate your business!
Whats all the hype about
meals?
Most other tour companies main activity is paid meals for its members. We have
never understood why, but have seen the consequences of this practice. Sometimes catered
meals (especially in Latin America) can be a date with disaster. We have been in the same
camp with another tour group who had a bad catered meal, and everyone became ill! We would
rather give you more interesting sightseeing tours and cultural events instead of
Eating our way through the trip. That is not to say that we dont sample
the local cuisine. Often we will go out as a group to a local restaurant (one that we know
has a good reputation for cleanliness) and have a wonderful time. The food in Latin
America is a big part of the experience. This way, everyone can order what they want and
it is a much more comfortable situation.
A final note!
Be a wise shopper - check the company out before signing up. New Tour
companies are sprouting up everyday. Some of them are ex-tourleaders that want a piece of
the pie, others are new companies that copy established operators. Theres even one
company that has copied our name, our itineraries, and our tour materials so they would
look professional - imagine that! What Im saying is be careful who you are dealing
with - we dont want your travel experience to be a nightmare by placing your trust
in an un-professional and inexperienced tour operator.
